Fascinating Gatlinburg Waterfalls You Must See Soon

Laurel Falls

As the longest of four paved trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Laurel Falls trail is ideal for families. A round trip to this Gatlinburg waterfall amounts to 2.6 miles and takes about an hour to complete. Along the path, you’ll encounter lush plant life, beautiful mountain laurels, and of course, the beautiful Laurel Falls! At 80-feet tall, this waterfall is a sight you don’t want to miss. It’s easy-access makes it one of the most popular waterfalls in the Smokies and a favorite for children and grown-ups alike!

Grotto Falls

The unique features of Grotto Falls make it one of the most extraordinary places you’ll ever visit. This beautiful waterfall is minutes from Downtown Gatlinburg, and its rushing waters cascade down the mountainside in such a way that spectators can walk behind the waterfall. The 2.6-mile round-trip hike along the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail and Trillium Gap trailhead is fairly easy and will lead you to Grotto Falls in approximately two hours.

Ramsey Cascades

If undisturbed nature is what you love, the Ramsey Cascades Trail will amaze you. Although the trail can be challenging and takes nearly five hours to complete, the entire journey is incredibly rewarding. The eight-mile round trip trail leads to the tallest waterfall in the park, Ramsey Cascades. At 100 feet of elevation, the view here is like no other. But that’s not all! The water below the towering falls creates a small pool where an abundance of camouflaged salamanders make their homes.
