1. AnakeestaTreetop Canopy Walk

Anakeesta can be summed up into a single phrase, “ it’s a mountain playground.” Anakeesta sits above Gatlinburg, which means you get to see great views of the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg. Moreover, that also means you can’t just walk to Anakeesta. Instead, you will walk to the gondola and chair lift system that takes you up to the summit of Anakeesta. Once there you can shop, dine, zipline, play in the tree tops course, and more! This is a one of a kind experience in Gatlinburg!

 

2. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is an easy five-minute stroll down the riverside from our hotel in Gatlinburg. Even though it’s a quick walk you can have hours of fun in this aquarium! Inside you’ll find several hundred different species of animals, from eels, sharks, and stingrays to penguins! There are many interactive exhibits where you can touch animals, watch them perform, and learn unique facts about them. You can even purchase artwork made by the penguins, and when you get hungry there’s a cafe inside to dine at.

 

3. Ole Smoky Moonshine: The Barrelhouse

Ole Smoky Moonshine is a famous moonshine producing and selling brand. But did you know they have expanded into making and selling whiskey? This store is known as the Barrelhouse. In the rafters of the store you’ll see old whiskey barrels from their first batch. You’ll find flavors to sample like Salty Caramel, Cinnamon, Straight, Mango Habanero, and so much more! You can watch moonshine be made here, and be entertained by funny and knowledgeable bartenders and retail associates in the store.

 

4. Tom and Earl’s Back Alley Grill

Tom and Earl’s Back Alley Grill is a great little restaurant and bar located almost directly across the street from our hotel. They serve up delicious American cuisine in decent size portions. You can find menu items like fried pickles, wings, salads, pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, and more. Tom and Earl’s also offers a full-service bar, so it’s a good place to grab a drink and watch a game. Throughout the week you can also come here to find live music performed by talented, local musicians. The best part is that during the summer there’s shaded outdoor seating!

 

5. The Shops at the Village

The Shops at the Village offer a unique shopping experience. The Village has a unique European architecture design that makes it look very pretty and welcoming. There’s 27 unique shops in The Village, and is a great place to pick up a souvenir or gift. Besides shopping you can find small places to grab a snack, lunch, or some coffee. Some very popular places inside The Village include God’s Corner, the Hayloft, and the Donut Friar. Before you leave The Village make sure to make a wish at the picture-perfect fountain in the middle!
