Your adventure at Anakeesta begins the moment you step onto the chairlift that carries you up 600 feet above Gatlinburg. In addition to the chairlifts, there are also enclosed gondolas that hold up to 6 people. However, you may have to wait quite a bit longer for the larger gondolas.
As you ascend, the noise of the city below fades away, replaced by the serene and expansive views of the surrounding mountains. It’s a journey that sets the tone for the entire visit—peaceful, scenic, and full of anticipation for what’s to come. You will also hear music as you rise over the mountain ridge that does a great job of setting the tone for the adventure to come.

On our visit, we had an Italian beef sandwich (one of your writer’s favorite food items). In all honestly, it wasn’t the best Italian beef sandwich we’ve had. It was a little dry. But all in all, not bad, and it kept us going in our hungry state. There are enough dining options at Anakeesta that you will find something you love whatever kind of food you like.
